Peter Rucci is a 61-year-old former teacher. He taught at Honolulu Waldorf School between 2013 and May 2017 and served as the band director at the Damien Memorial School from August 2017 to his firing in November. Peter Rucci was also the band director at Le Jardin Academy in Kailua this year, working on the middle school and high school campuses, according to a school newsletter.
Peter Rucci, is charged with 9 counts of sexual assault. It is alleged that Peter Rucci knowingly engaged in various vicious explicit sexual acts with the child victim. According to the charging documents the perpetrator began his assault, on or about March 1, 2017 to and including June 4, 2017, in the City and County of Honolulu, State of Hawaii.
November 15, 2017, Peter Rucci was indicted on the above charges; the defendant was released on Bail with a no contact order entered. He was arraigned on, November 27, 2017, and entered a plea of not guilty to all charges. He was allowed to travel back to California until December 31, 2017, at the motions hearing held on December 13 2017, and is set to appear for Trail on February 5, 2018.
